I’m proud to announce a new podcast that I’m working on, entitled “Bottom of the Map”, which features conversations about Southern Hip-Hop and its cultural implications. Music journalist Christina Lee and scholar Dr. Regina N. Bradley are the amazing co-hosts, while my role is that of producer. “Bottom of the Map” is developed, supported and distributed by PRX and WABE, the flagship NPR station in Atlanta.
Episodes drop each week during this 20-week first season, and topics include the commodification of Trap Music, HBCU band culture, Southern Hip-Hop as an expression of geography, the evolution of female archetypes Blues/Hip-Hop, Cannabis Culture, the Atlanta Child Murders, and much more!
